How the estimate works

1. Your county rating area

Marketplace premiums are priced by county rating area, not by a national average. We use benchmark silver premiums for all 67 Florida counties — second-lowest-cost silver in your area.

2. The 2026 applicable-figure table

Your expected household contribution is a percentage of your income, from the 2026 Federal Poverty Line table — 100% to 400% of FPL. Your credit is the benchmark silver premium minus that contribution.

3. Cost-sharing reduction screening

Under 250% of FPL, CSR bands make silver plans richer than their metal tier — lower out-of-pocket maximum and higher actuarial value. We screen it and flag it in your result.

4. The Florida Medicaid gap

Florida has not expanded Medicaid. Under 100% FPL, marketplace credits generally do not apply — we screen the gap with you and point to CHIP and other options where they fit.

Estimate questions we hear

Is this calculator free?

Yes — the estimate is free, happens on this page, and sends nothing anywhere. If you want a human review of the number, book a free 30-minute call below.

Why does my premium change by county?

Rating area. The same 62-year-old in Miami-Dade and Escambia sees different benchmark silver premiums — sometimes by hundreds of dollars a month.

What income counts?

Gross income before taxes, for everyone on the application — wages, self-employment, Social Security, and other taxable income. The Marketplace uses projected annual income for the coverage year.

Does tobacco use change my estimate?

Yes — tobacco rating can raise premiums in Florida. The estimate applies a tobacco rating factor when any adult on the application uses tobacco.
